Kickoff to Summer: Light up Learning with Unplugged Fun!

School’s almost out, and we’re flipping the switch to SUMMER! Join us for EdVenture’s Annual Kickoff to Summer—a high-energy celebration where kids roam, explore, and learn through play as they prepare for a summer full of fun.

We’ll begin by taking a special moment to celebrate the South Carolina Teacher of the year, Braden Wilson, who taught social studies at Palmetto Middle School in Anderson County. We’re proud to have her lighting up EdVenture the same way she, and all teachers of South Carolina, light up the hearts and minds of our students all year long.

 

She will lead us in our favorite tradition, the Lighting of J, the Firefly! This glowing symbol, shining bright with all the possibilities ahead, marks the start of a summer filled with wonder, imagination, and real-world connection.

 

The fun doesn’t stop there because this isn’t just any event, it’s the launch of our summer mission: Unplug from screens, and plug into fun, learning, and family time. We’re encouraging kids (and grown-ups) to disconnect from tech and reconnect with creativity, curiosity, and each other.

Kids will enjoy hands-on activity stations filled with crafts, games, and playful learning, all designed to inspire and engage. Plus, every child will go home with a Summer Bucket List bursting with screen-free adventures (or should we say…”Ed”Ventures!) to keep the fun going all summer long.

So come celebrate the summer, the joy of learning, and the amazing people who make it all possible. Let’s kick off summer the right way—with play, purpose, and a little bit of magic – lighting the way to a summer unplugged – and unforgettable!
