Available Rental Locations

The Canal Room is our most popular rental space. Located in the lower level of the museum, this rental option offers a large space for guests, access to plasma TV’s for presentations/ photo slideshows, private restrooms, a small prep/ service kitchen, as well as a private entrance.
AVAILABILITY: Day, Evening
CAPACITY: 100
COST: $100 per hour, $150 per hour after 5pm
Minimum of 3 hours required. Setup and breakdown time are not included in your rental time. You must purchase the amount of time that you will need to setup, host, and breakdown your event.

The Think Tank is our second largest space. This room can be arranged in a number of ways to allow for guests, activities and food. The Think Tank does not come with its own prep kitchen, but with its unique shape, allows for separation of food, guests, and activities. Great for smaller parties, trainings, or meetings.
AVAILABILITY: Day, Evening
CAPACITY: 70 seated with tables, 120 standing reception/ theater seating
COST: $75 per hour before 5pm, $100 per hour after 5pm

The Program Rooms, located on the second floor, are great for smaller capacity functions and are the perfect add-on for larger rentals looking to hold small break-out sessions. These rooms come with counter space, as well as a sink in each room.

COST (per room): $150 (four hours/ before 5pm), $300 (eight hours/ before 5pm) $400 (four hours/ evening)

The Loft is located on the mezzanine of EdVenture and offers views of SCSM and some of the great skyline of Columbia. Perfect for a smaller meeting, birthday party, or other intimate events. The Loft comes with counter space, as well as a sink.

COST: $200 (four hours/ before 5pm), $400 (eight hours/ before 5pm) $500 (four hours/ evening)

The Terrace is the perfect place to celebrate under the stars on our stunning 12,000-square-foot terrace. The Congaree River and Gervais Street Bridge are beautiful backdrops to this spacious outdoor area with ample room for a stage, lounge area, food and beverage set up, dance floor and seating. Perfect for a wedding reception, prom or gala!

CAPACITY: 1500
COST: $2500 (Terrace and Lobby: 6:00 – 11:00pm)
Note: To comply with City of Columbia noise ordinance, outdoor music must stop at 10 p.m. Large events are subject to an additional setup fee.

EdVenture’s first floor is a beautiful space with four world-class galleries, the Imaginarium. Add outdoor fun by renting the museum’s beautiful 12,000-square-foot riverfront terrace overlooking the Congaree River.

COST: $1500 (6:00 – 11:00pm), $3500 (First floor and Terrace: 6:00 – 11:00pm)

EdVenture Full Museum – Rent the entire EdVenture facility and gain access to all eight of our world-class galleries, all meeting spaces and program rooms.

CAPACITY: 1500
COST: $4000 (6:00 – 11:00PM), $5000 (Full museum and Terrace: 6:00 – 11:00pm)
*Large events are subject to an additional setup fee.
Rental Policies
Rental times do not include free setup or breakdown times. Your setup, event, and breakdown, must occur in your purchased rental time. Events cannot begin before 7 A.M. and must end by 11 P.M. Tables and chairs are available upon request, depending upon availability. Large events are subject to an additional setup fee.
All rentals require a 50% non-refundable deposit within 7 days of booking a reservation. All rental fees MUST be paid for 14 days before the date of your event. Rental fees DO NOT include staffing, cleaning, A/V, or security fees, and may be an additional cost.
Cancellations must be done within 14 days of the event, in writing/email. Upon your cancellation you will be refunded any payment(s) toward the rental cost, excluding the deposit.
Discounted rates may be available for 501(c)3 organizations with proof of status.
