Rebbie Rye Brings Statewide Tour To South Carolina Children’s Museums
Visit Comes Just Weeks After Governor’s Proclamation of Children’s Museum Week
COLUMBIA, S.C., March 11, 2026 – Beloved children’s musician and educator Rebbie Rye will travel across South Carolina the week of March 16, bringing interactive musical performances to each of the state’s children’s museums. Her visit comes at an especially exciting time, just weeks after Henry McMaster, Governor of South Carolina, officially proclaimed April 6–11, 2026 as Children’s Museum Week.
During her statewide tour, Rye will perform at each museum that is part of the South Carolina Alliance of Children’s Museums (SCACM), delighting young audiences with music, storytelling, and playful learning experiences designed to inspire curiosity and creativity.
“South Carolina’s Children’s Museums spark our state’s youngest citizens’ imagination and creativity, igniting curiosity and wonder using hands-on engagement and play as a springboard for learning,” said Governor Henry McMaster in the official proclamation announcing this year’s Children’s Museum Week.
The SCACM is a collaborative partnership among the state’s children’s museums, created to maximize statewide impact and expand opportunities for play-based learning. Members include The Children’s Museum of the Upstate in Greenville and Spartanburg, EdVenture Children’s Museum in Columbia and Myrtle Beach, Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry in Charleston, and Main Street Children’s Museum in Rock Hill.
While each museum offers unique exhibits and experiences, they share a common mission: supporting children’s development through hands-on exploration and informal learning. Rye’s statewide visit reflects the collaborative spirit of the alliance, which frequently works together to share ideas, resources, and programming that benefit families across South Carolina.
“Children’s museums are all about sparking curiosity and joyful discovery,” said representatives of the alliance. “Having an artist like Rebbie Rye travel across the state to visit each of our museums highlights the way we support one another and celebrate learning together.”
Although Rye’s tour takes place in March, it builds excitement for the upcoming Children’s Museum Week celebration in April. Throughout that week, museums across South Carolina will host special programs and activities that showcase the importance of play-based learning and the vital role children’s museums play in their communities.
With great anticipation, Rebbie Rye said, “I am super excited to visit the beautiful children’s museums in the great state of South Carolina. Children’s museums are so important in our communities to encourage play based learning, using our imaginations, and keeping the arts alive! It is an honor to bring my creative adventures to life for the families of South Carolina! It will be Rebbie-Riffic!”
Families interested in attending Rebbie Rye’s performances or learning more about upcoming Children’s Museum Week activities are encouraged to visit their local museum’s website or follow them on social media for schedules and event details.
