Do teachers or bus drivers have to pay?

One chaperone per seven students is free at the time of booking. Additional chaperones are $5 per person. Teachers/bus drivers visit FREE with the group.

How long does the field study last?

Field studies at EdVenture do not have a time limit. Classroom and Lab programs will last 45-minutes per session and typically allow for 15 minutes reset time for the educator. Exploration time, whether with or without an attached classroom program, is unlimited. EdVenture is open from 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Sunday. Self-guided tours can begin and end anytime within our operating hours and are available for booking on weekend days. EdVenture does not offer guided tours.

When are field study programs offered?

Monday through Friday, September- May. Classroom programming is suspended from Memorial Day to Labor Day due to our Summer Break Camp.

What do I have to do to guarantee my space?

A $50 deposit is required for your field trip reservation to guarantee space and availability. This deposit will be credited toward the total admission fees due. The deposit due date will be indicated on the reservation confirmation.

How do I make reservations?

Request a Field Study online.
• Once your field study request has been confirmed via email or mail, teachers are responsible for confirming the number of students 48 hours prior to arrival. If the teacher does not confirm the number of participants with EdVenture, the school may be responsible for paying for all reserved spots, regardless of actual attendance. Contact bookit(at)edventure.org to confirm your group's attendance.

Does my group need a reservation?

For your group to secure the seasonal discounted group rates, you must submit a reservation request form and have your trip confirmed by the School and Group Scheduler and/or Assistant Director of Facilities & Events. Reservations take 48 hours to 1 week to process.

When is the balance due?

We understand different organizations use different systems to process payments. While we prefer payments to be made on the day of, as this typically reduces the likelihood of an over or underpayment, payment can be made ahead of time, on the day of, or at a later date. EdVenture will provide refunds for overpayment within 30 days for amounts of $25 or greater.

How will I receive confirmation for my visit?

You will receive confirmation of your visit by email or mail. It will include your reservation number.

What is your cancellation policy?

There will be a $50 fee for all cancellations made less than 14 business days before your scheduled visit. Cooking Lab programs will charge a $100 late cancellation fee to cover the cost of materials purchased. This fee is in addition to the $50 cancellation fee addressed at the bottom of the invoice.

What payment methods are accepted?

Payment can be made by check, Visa, Discover, American Express or MasterCard. Purchase orders will be accepted as a form of payment with prior notification.

What are your drop-off/pickup policies?

If your group arrives more than 15 minutes late, part of your experience may be shortened. A member of EdVenture’s staff will meet students on the bus to conduct a brief orientation upon arrival. Please be on time. All groups are asked to stay with their assigned staff person to ensure the best experience. If an EdVenture staff member does not greet your group on the bus to go over the museum rules, please organize your group in the large open space to the right of the front desk in the front lobby. Buses are to bring students to the main entrance of EdVenture upon arrival. Drivers then will be directed to a specific parking location after students have entered the building. Buses are to pick up students at the museum’s main entrance at the front of the building.

How do I pre-order lunches for a field study?

No outside lunches are allowed in the museum. Field study guest lunches must be ordered 10 business days in advance.
Please download and return the completed Group Lunch Request Form at least 10 business days before your visit.


Due to the cost of purchasing food items and maintaining their quality, if you have arranged for any food to be provided by EdVenture for a lunch and/or field study program and you are, for whatever reason, unable to attend, a representative from your school must provide notice within five (5) business days of your scheduled visit to the School and Group Scheduler. If you do not provide proper notice of your cancellation, your school will incur an additional cost to your trip equal to the amount of any and all food items purchased by EdVenture for your booking. You will be responsible for all lunches ordered for your visit.
