Unpack an exciting hands-on class or large group assembly by bringing the EdVenture experience to your school or group meeting. Our educators hit the road to bring engaging instruction right to you.

 

Prefer the convenience of your classroom or have a special event at your school and want your students to have the EdVenture experience? We’ll bring EdVenture to you! We’ve taken our best classroom programs and made them mobile so students everywhere can experience learning through active, hands-on participation. These in-school programs will entertain and educate students without taking an entire day from your teaching schedule. Want to make a whole day of it? EdVenture can provide multiple programs to rotate through and top it off with an assembly presentation for everyone in your cafeteria, multipurpose room, or auditorium.

Gravity Painting

Join us as we unlock an artist’s toolbox to discover the exciting world of art through science! Using beginner scientific principles, we will create works or art using magnets and the gravitational pull of the earth! Join us as we go full STEAM ahead to where science and art combine to create masterpieces for all to see.

Give Me a Beat!
Subject: Music, Physical Science, Engineering

Drum roll please! Students will discover the science of sound and become musical engineers. Students will experiment with sound waves through a series of hands-on activities. Using this knowledge, students will then get their creative gears turning by engineering their own musical instruments out of everyday objects to create their own unique sounds.

Enchanted Engineers

Think it. Design it. Make it! Inspired by the tale of the Three Billy Goats Gruff, students will dive into the world of engineering to solve different tasks facing the story's characters. They will build bridges, craft boats, and construct houses for the three goat brothers. These tiny tinkerers will even use basic coding in order to subdue the grumpy Troll! This hands-on program builds teamwork and problem-solving skills in addition to structures!

Little Sprouts

Give your plants the TLC they need to thrive! Come explore the world of plants as we discover what we can do to help them, as well as what they do to help us! Discover the life cycle of a plant from seed to sprout, determine what plants need to survive, and find out how we rely on plants in our everyday lives. We’ll plant the seed, and your little botanists will grow to love flowers and plants as we dig in the dirt to discover their world.

From the page to the stage, we will bring beloved classics to life with the help of your students. Our storyteller and special guest characters support lucky volunteers in this wacky and crazy retelling of literary classics. Share the range of emotions, heartfelt lessons, and travel to amazing destinations that can all come from a good book.

Healthy Me Healthy You
Subject: Life Science

Meet STUFFEE, EdVenture’s health ambassador, who teaches students how to maintain the body – inside and out! Students learn about their digestive tract, how to find and take their pulse, how to keep their heart and lungs strong, and the importance of exercise and eating healthy. Students will have an opportunity to learn about proper dental hygiene when they meet our dental dragons, Williams and Brice, who will show STUFFEE how to properly brush her teeth. Satisfy your appetite for a healthy diet as you explore food groups and the MyPlate approach to nutritious eating.

A Child Around the World

Prepare for take-off as we embark on an EdVenture to many wondrous places around the world! Your students will experience life as children from different cultures. From chores, to school, to music and birthdays, kids around the world do many of the same things we do! To top it all off, they’ll get a passport full of stamps, to help remember their journey!

Weather You Like it or Not
Subject: Earth Science

Weather happens every day, but how? Students will take on the role of meteorologists as they participate in interactive displays exploring the “three ingredients” of weather: temperature, precipitation, and air. They will discover how the weather changes throughout the year and how to stay safe when it turns severe. With plenty of instruments to help young scientists collect data and take readings, this class is sure to be a hit… no matter the season!

Do your students know what it means to be safe from fire at home? Designed and presented by educational specialists from the South Carolina Division of Fire and Life Safety, Office of State Fire Marshal, this program teaches children the basic tenets of home fire safety, such as knowledge of smoke alarms, home escape plans, what’s hot and what’s not, and how to react in emergency situations. By empowering our youngest citizens to become safety managers in their own homes, students will leave knowing the skills to help them stay safe!

It’s Just a Phase

Solids and liquids and gases, oh my! With materials like dry ice and liquid nitrogen at your side, embark on a curious journey to discovery the properties and conditions of these three states of matter. Watch as our educators cause chemical reactions, shrivel balloons, and even flash freeze marshmallows for your students to try!

Zap! Electricity at Work
Subject: Physical Science

It’s electric! Zap! Explores the wonders of electricity, it’s origins, and how to stay safe around it. We will witness the different ways electrons “flow” as we look at the structure of the atom, types of electricity, and it effects on living things. Students will create a human circuit, participate in a Van der Graff demonstration, and observe a pickle being zapped! They will even get to try their hands at our “squishy circuits”, creating a flow of electrons that is sure to be illuminating!

Burning Questions
Subject: Fire and Life Safety
How does fire form? How can it be contained? What can we do to prevent it? Designed and presented by educational specialists from the South Carolina Division of Fire and Life Safety, Office of State Fire Marshal, this program teaches students about fire safety while demonstrating the fire triangle. Awesome Aeronautics

Ever wonder how an airplane stays in the sky? Well, keep your tray tables and seats in the locked and upright position as we learn about the four forces of flight through fun and creative challenges. Students are engaged in the science behind flight and queried to think how engineers might design future aircrafts. Afterwards, students can try engineering their own unique paper airplane designs!

What are the costs?

When are Ed-To-Go programs offered?

Ed-To-Go is offered year-round.

How long does an Ed-To-Go Program last?

Classroom and Assembly programs will last 45-minutes per session and typically allow for 15 minutes reset time for the educator if multiple sessions are held.

What is the difference between an Assembly Program and a Classroom Program?

Assembly programs are designed to educate a larger audience, like an entire grade, with bigger props, dynamic visuals and multiple Educators. Classroom Programs are designed to come in to the classroom and get each student involved with hands-on exploration.

How do I make reservations?

Complete the online Ed-To-Go Request Form. Requests must be booked at least two weeks in advance. We recommend booking at least a month in advance to ensure availability.

How will I receive confirmation for my program?

You will receive confirmation of your visit by email. It will include your reservation number.

When is the balance due?

We understand different organizations use different systems to process payments. While we prefer payments to be made on the day of, payment can be made ahead of time, on the day of, or at a later date. EdVenture will provide refunds for overpayment within 30 days for amounts of $25 or greater.

What is your cancellation policy?

There will be a $50 fee for all cancellations made less than 14 business days before your scheduled program.

What payment methods are accepted?

Payment can be made by check, Visa, Discover, American Express or MasterCard. Purchase orders will be accepted as a form of payment with prior notification.
