Fire & Life Safety is critical to the welfare of children and families in South Carolina. For this reason, EdVenture, along with the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, has created special programming designed to educate children grades K-5.

Fire & Life Safety programming

South Carolina is ranked #7 in the nation for deaths caused by fires. Statistics like this move EdVenture to continue on its mission to educate children across our state on the importance of fire and life safety. Designed and taught by firefighters on staff at EdVenture, our programming teaches children fire and life safety skills that will better prepare them for emergency situations. Our educators use tools such as a 911 simulator to illustrate how to react in a time of crisis.

Thanks to the support of State Farm, EdVenture provides 100 days of free fire & life safety outreach program to schools and community centers across the state.

Spray It Forward

Since the majority of fire fighters in South Carolina are volunteers, there is often very little time and few resources that communities can dedicate to educating children on the importance of fire & life safety. For this reason, Spray It Forward was created by EdVenture and the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. This program instructs firefighters throughout the state on what they need to know in order to teach the children in their own communities about fire & life safety.
