9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Children twelve and under are admitted for just a ten cents! That’s right— admission is only a dime for kids on May 3!
EdVenture will have a day filled of activities about financial literacy for our young learners. Kids will use items such as play dough to learn how money functions in the real world. Pop into a session to get a glimpse of how making finance can be interesting for kids!
Counting with Coins - Participants will engage in a scavenger hunt to find currency around the museum. Learners can work on teams and find the best ways to gather money and which coins/bills will benefit them the most.
Needs vs. Wants - Learners will participate in a relay race to determine which items are needs and which items are wants. Discussion will surround how money can be spent on different items, some more important than others!
Bartering and Trading - Participant will engage in creating goods via play dough and then having to barter with their peers to get the items they want. Some items are more valuable than others and they will have to give up some favorite items to learn the importance of negotiating!
Borrowing and Interest - Will that be on the credit card or not? Participants will learn the interest and financial background of using credit cards, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
