Fire and Life Safety

This program is designed and taught by firefighters on staff at EdVenture. It teaches children fire and life safety skills so they will be better prepared for emergency situations. Students are taught about smoke alarms, home escape plans and how to conduct a 911 call (using our 911 simulator). Interactive exercises, such as a puppet show, entertain and involve students, and reinforce program objectives.

Healthy Me, Healthy You

Healthy habits are an important part of everyone’s life. Students take a look at what is inside their body, how their body works and learn the best way to care for it. They meet Stuffee®, a seven-foot, soft-sculpted doll that you can unzip to remove organs. Stuffee, our most popular health and wellness program, teaches the fundamentals of dental care, diet and exercise.

Recycle, Reuse and Rethink

How can we all reduce the amount of trash we make everyday? Students will be introduced to Garbagena® EdVenture’s environmental ambassador who lives in a garbage can, and learn how to look at garbage differently. Students become “garbologists” and determine what can be recycled, reused, repaired and even composted.

 

Grades: 1st – 3rd grade

Dr. Kitchen Science

Make chemistry a household word! When Dr. Kitchen Science comes to visit, kids can participate in hands-on experiments or watch cool demonstrations using things found around the house. As children learn about solids, liquids and gases, they participate in activities that may include blowing up balloons without using your mouth, making silly putty or cooking a treat.

 

Grade: 2nd and 3rd

Zap! (NEW)

It’s electric! Students learn and experience how current electricity can heat things up and make things move. They will see the wonder of static electricity from a tiny shock from a carpet to the power of a lightning bolt from the sky. They may even see a pickle that glows!

My Amazing Body

The body is an amazing machine full of parts that work together and it is important to keep our bodies healthy. Students learn about the different parts of their body, how they work and how to keep it healthy. They learn about the digestive system and nutrition, oral health and more.

Students will learn the responsibilities of workers and consumers, as well as saving, spending and sharing money. They will create a budget, learn how to manage it and discover how to handle life’s unexpected surprises!

Whoosh! (NEW)

Students explore the mysterious properties and magical movements of air, as they investigate the power of air and its forces. Students will experience how Bernoulli’s Principle helps keep jumbo jets in the sky and beach balls defy gravity. They will witness liquids boil at room temperature and balloons burst without a sound!
