Facility Rental

EdVenture offers a unique venue for any event. Whether taking the entire museum for a big celebration of 1,000 people or hosting an intimate gathering with as few as 20 people on our riverfront terrace, treat your guests to a beautiful, downtown evening with no parking hassles. 


Full Museum

Rent the entire EdVenture facility and gain access to all eight of our world-class galleries, all meeting spaces and program rooms, and the Café. Max guests: 1,500

Cost: $3,000 - Full Museum
$4,000 - Full Museum + Terrace

Congaree Terrace

Celebrate under the stars on our stunning 12,000-square-foot terrace. The Congaree River and Gervais Street Bridge are beautiful backdrops to this spacious outdoor area with ample room for a stage, lounge area, food and beverage set up, dance floor and seating. Perfect for a wedding reception, prom or gala! Max guests: 1,500

Note: To comply with City of Columbia noise ordinance, outdoor music must stop at 10 p.m.

First Floor

EdVenture’s first floor is a beautiful space with four world-class galleries, the Imaginarium and the Carousel Café. Add outdoor fun by renting the museum’s beautiful 12,000-square-foot riverfront terrace overlooking the Congaree River. Max guests: 745

The Imaginarium

This multipurpose room just inside the museum entrance has endless possibilities. Host a corporate meeting during the day or a catered evening gathering.

Cost: $200 (Four hours)
$300 (Eight hours)
$350 (Evenings, four hours, after 5 p.m.)

Canal Room

Host your next business meeting, conference or seminar at EdVenture! The Canal Room features five plasma screens, wireless Internet and a catering kitchen. Additional A/V amenities are available upon request. Capacity based on setup.

Cost: $300 (Four hours)
$500 (Eight hours)
$750 (Evenings, after 5 p.m.)
$2,000 Canal Room + Terrace (Evenings, four hours, after 5 p.m.)

Program Rooms

Located on the second floor, EdVenture’s two program rooms are great for smaller capacity functions such as business meetings or baby showers. Capacity based on setup.

$350 (Evening, four hours, after 5 p.m.)

Board Room

Meet with a full view of the beautiful outside world in the EdVenture Board Room. An exceptional meeting space, the room is equipped with wireless access, a U-shaped table with chairs and ample room for food and beverage set-up. Max guests: 25

Carousel Café

Available evenings, the Carousel Café transforms into a spacious, upscale eatery that can accommodate a wide range of gatherings and celebrations. From seated, theatre-style meetings to elegant cocktail parties and receptions, this modern space is equipped with wireless access. Open the glass doors to access the beautiful 12,000-square-foot riverfront Congaree Terrace. Capacity based on setup.

Cost: $500 (Evenings, four hours, after 5 p.m.)
$1,750 - Carousel Café + Terrace (evening rentals after 5 p.m.)

Deposits, Fees & Cancellations

All rentals require a 20% non-refundable deposit within 14 days of booking a reservation. The balance is due within 45 days of the event, unless otherwise stated in rental contract. Rental fees DO NOT include cleaning or security fees. Audio/visual equipment can be rented for an additional fee.

Discounted rates may be available for 501(c)3 organizations with proof of status.
